Reagents

We provide reagents and kits for the measurement of melatonin and 6-sulphatoxymelatonin (aMT6s). For more details, see our catalogue or contact Stockgrand.

Contract assay service

We assay melatonin in the pineal gland, plasma and saliva, aMT6s in plasma and urine, cortisol in plasma and saliva and urinary free cortisol. All samples (dependent on volume) are assayed in duplicate and repeated should the concentration be too high or too low for the standard curve or the sample CV be greater than 10%.

We measure activity and light exposure using ActiwatchLs

Clinical trials

We conduct clinical trials in the area of biological rhythms. We have an environmentally controlled Clinical Investigation Unit with facilities for recording and analysing:

• core body temperature
• activity/rest cycles
• ambient light exposure
• alertness, mood, performance
• hormone (especially melatonin, cortisol) analysis
